# Equity Fees

> How platform fees apply to equity direct fills and escrow fills

The builder sets a platform fee on equity fills with the same `platformFeeBps` and `feeAccount` parameters as for any other token. See [Platform Fees](https://pond.dflow.net/spot/trading/platform-fees.md) for the general model and [Add Platform Fees](https://pond.dflow.net/spot/recipes/platform-fees.md) for the recipe.

## Direct Fill Fees

A direct fill honors `platformFeeMode`: the fee is collected in the input mint or the output mint.

## Escrow Fill Fees

An escrow fill charges the platform fee when it fills:

* The fee is paid in USDC, the settlement mint, whatever `platformFeeMode` says.
* The fee goes to the exact `feeAccount` from the request.
* The fee is charged on the filled amount only.

## Equity Fee Account Requirements

A nonzero `platformFeeBps` requires `feeAccount` on every equity request. Without it, the order endpoint returns `400` with code `platform_fee_account_not_specified`.

When the fee is charged, `feeAccount` must exist, hold the fee mint, and not be frozen. If the account is missing, frozen, or holds another mint, the fill still executes and no fee is charged.

The app creates the fee account beforehand.
